Motorcyclist Dies in Accident on Veterans Drive

ST. THOMAS — A 21-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle and died from injuries sustained in the ensuing collision on Friday night in St. Thomas, according to the V.I. Police Department. The incident happened on Veterans Drive, just east of the Boy Scout building. The victim, identified as Daveonte Teshawn Parris, was operating his motorcycle heading east on Veterans Drive at 10:43 p.m. when he lost control. His motorcycle veered onto the sidewalk and collided violently with the rocky embankment on De Beltjen Road, the VIPD said. The accident was first reported to the 911 Emergency Call Center by a concerned resident. The caller indicated that Parris had fallen off his bike and was unconscious, though still breathing at the time. Upon arrival, V.I.
