Auto Collision on St. Croix Bypass Leaves Three Injured, One Dead

ST. CROIX — A two-vehicle collision on Saturday has resulted in one fatality, according to information provided to the Consortium by the V.I. Police Department following an inquiry. The incident occurred on the Bypass in Christiansted around 1:53 p.m.  The VIPD's Traffic Investigation Bureau was notified of the accident, prompting investigators to travel to the scene and the Juan F. Luis Hospital to collect information about the collision. A preliminary investigation revealed that one vehicle, a silver 2022 Chevrolet Equinox was heading westbound while a second vehicle was heading east. Reportedly, the eastbound vehicle veered into the westbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision. The VIPD controlled traffic on Saturday afternoon following the deadly accident. (Credit: V.I.
