St. Croix Recording Artist Lynda “Nikki” Brooks Hospitalized After Serious Crash Near Kingshill

ST. CROIX — Popular St. Croix recording artist Lynda “Nikki” Brooks was hospitalized Thursday afternoon following a serious vehicular accident near the Kingshill Post Office. The crash occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. on September 18 and left the entertainer shaken but thankful to be alive. Speaking to the Consortium from the hospital, Brooks described the fear and confusion she experienced immediately after the collision. “On impact I blacked out and got up when I heard someone ask if I was ok. I was scared, thought I was not going to come out the car. It was a lot of smoke and steam, I was screaming and fighting to get the car open and it wouldn’t,” she recalled. She explained that she managed to push against the door until it created a small space. “I started pushing and a lil space open and I squeezed out and fell down,” she said.
