Single-Vehicle Accident on Queen Mary Highway Near Educational Complex Leaves Man in Coma

CROIX — A St. Croix man as of Sunday afternoon was in a coma after sustaining injuries about the body following a single-vehicle accident that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, the Consortium has learned. The victim's lawyer, Yohanna Manning, said the victim was still fighting for his life Sunday afternoon, though he was not stable enough to be flown off island for further medical attention. The family is asking the community to pray that he survives, Attorney Manning said. Identified as Kahlil Wilson, the victim sustained injuries in the spine, neck, head and other areas. The 911 emergency call center received notification of the accident at about 1:10 a.m. Sunday, according to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima.
