ST. CROIX — Police are encouraging Virgin Islanders to submit tips to Crime Stoppers and the V.I.P.D. Tip Line following the successful arrest of a man found in possession of firearm and ammunition based on information provided by a resident. According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on Tuesday at approximately 5:11 a.m., VIPD officers arrested Danny J. Delerme, age 23 of Constitution Hill, and charged him with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession or Sale of Ammunition. On Feb. 4, officers received an anonymous tip that Delerme was seen with a firearm inside of the Limetree Bay refinery. Contact was made with the refinery’s security personnel to advise them of the incident.
