CBP Agents Confiscate More Weapons at Airport, Arrest Suspect

ST. THOMAS — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Field Operations Officers (OFO) on Saturday, March 18 intercepted a total of 2 firearms and high capacity magazines arriving at the Cyril E. King Airport, according to a release from the federal agency. “CBP officers will continue our efforts detecting and intercepting weapons being brought into the territory,” stated Todd Bellew, Area Port Director, Office of Field Operations for the USVI. “This is yet another case that exemplifies the hard work and dedication of our officers in stemming the flow of illegal weapons entering the territory." According to the release, while inspecting inbound flights, a suitcase was selected for inspection. When opened, a locked box with a firearms declaration form was seen. Jahmarley Parris subsequently retrieved his baggage and bypassed the V.I. Police Department booth without declaring the firearms. Parris was intercepted and escorted to CBP.
