Separate Shootings on St. Croix Leave two Injured

ST. CROIX — Two men were injured by gunfire during two separate shootings on St. Croix Thursday, announced V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima. The first incident occurred at around 5:00 a.m. According to Mr. Derima, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call of shots fired and a man down at a residence in Little Princesse. Officers traveled to the area and found a 35-year-old Black male in a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim reported to police that as he traveled from his residence headed to work, he heard gunfire and realized he had been injured, according to the news release. He stated that he observed a white vehicle leaving the area, but did not know who shot him. The victim was transported to the Juan Luis Hospital & Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
