19-Year-Old Man Arrested in Connection With May 21 Margarita Bar and Restaurant Robbery

ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department has arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the May 21 gunpoint robbery of Margarita Bar & Restaurant. According to V.I.P.D. Director of Communications Glen Dratte, George John Jr. was arrested on July 11 for his role in the May 21 robbery of the restaurant, which is located in Frederiksted, after a judge approved a warrant for his arrest on charges of carrying and using dangerous weapons during a crime of violence, and petit larceny. Mr. Dratte said John was off island when he was contacted by police and was made aware of the warrant for his arrest. According to the police report, John returned to the territory and turned himself in. Unable to make bail of $75,000, he was remanded to the John A. Bell Correctional Facility pending his advisement hearing.
