Queen Mary Highway Bridge to Close for Two Days Amid Repairs to Defects

The Queen Mary Highway Bridge, which reopened in July after a lengthy closure for repairs, is set to undergo additional work, according to a statement from the V.I. Department of Public Works. The announcement comes after defects were discovered at the bridge entrances, prompting the need for further repairs. Beginning Tuesday, October 1, the bridge will be closed for two days to allow the contractor, Custom Builders, to remove the asphalt on the bridge deck and replace it. The repairs are expected to be completed by Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
