The V.I. Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs has released the results of its latest fuel price survey conducted during the week of October 13, 2024. The survey highlights variations in fuel prices across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John.
St. Croix Fuel Prices
The survey found that self-service regular fuel on St. Croix averaged $3.996 per gallon, while premium fuel was priced at $4.397, and diesel at $4.689. The lowest price for regular fuel was $3.949 per gallon at Fill & Chill Service Station, while the most affordable premium fuel was available at $4.199 at several stations, including Titan and Budget Service Stations. Diesel fuel was cheapest at Titan Service Station, priced at $3.999 per gallon.
St. Thomas Fuel Prices
In St. Thomas, self-service fuel prices were notably higher. The average price for regular fuel was $4.849 per gallon, premium was $5.375, and diesel was $5.912. The lowest prices recorded for regular, premium, and diesel were $4.699, $5.199, and $5.799 per gallon, respectively, with stations like 1st Stop and RaceTrack offering some of the most competitive rates.
St. John Fuel Prices
Fuel prices on St. John were the highest among the three islands, with regular fuel averaging $5.219 per gallon, premium at $6.009, and diesel at $6.419. The E-C Gas Station offered the lowest prices for all three types of fuel, with regular at $5.139, premium at $5.339, and diesel at $5.659 per gallon.
The DLCA reminded gas station owners to clearly display fuel prices, octane ratings, and taxes on their pumps as required by law. The survey aims to help consumers find the most affordable fuel options in the territory.
