'Hamilton' Musical Back in Puerto Rico in June For Two-Week Fundraiser

The award-winning musical named "Hamilton", based on the life of Alexander Hamilton — a Founding Father of the United States and native of St. Kitts and Nevis, who lived in Christiansted, St. Croix for several years — will return to Puerto Rico in June. The creator of the musical, Lin-Manuel Miranda told the Associated Press that Hamilton will be performed in Puerto Rico for two weeks in the aforementioned month, and funds raised will be for the benefit of the Hispanic Federation and education nonprofit, the Flamboyan Foundation. “I am so proud of the work that both Hispanic Federation and the Flamboyan Arts Fund have done for the Puerto Rican community through their support and funding of grassroots efforts,” Miranda told the AP Monday. “By providing support to activists, artists and community groups on the ground, they have changed the ecosystem for the arts and the nonprofit sector.” During the June 16 fundraiser, Miranda will reunite the original Broadway cast members Renee Elis...
