Dept. of Education Announces Delayed Start for St. Thomas-St. John District Schools Due to Inclement Weather

The V.I. Dept. of Education has announced a delayed start for schools in the St. Thomas-St. John District due to severe weather conditions. Reports of heavy rain, thunder, and lightning have prompted VIDE officials to prioritize the safety of students, faculty, and staff. Delayed Start at 10:00 a.m. All schools in the St. Thomas-St. John District will begin operations at 10:00 a.m. to ensure the safe arrival of students, given potential disruptions to roadways caused by the inclement weather. Essential workers are required to report at their normal times to assess the schools and prepare for student arrivals.
