Magnitude-6.0 Earthquake Slams Puerto Rico; Shaking Felt on St. Thomas, St. Croix

The unending series of earthquakes that started affecting Puerto Rico on Monday continued Saturday with the latest being a magnitude 6.0 that affected the island at 9:00 a.m. today. The latest earthquake was just .4 points weaker than the magnitude 6.4 that wreaked havoc on the island on Tuesday, leaving homes destroyed and causing widespread power outage across the island commonwealth. Virgin Islanders have reported experiencing shaking from the quake. "Based on all available data, there is no tsunami threat to Puerto Rico and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands from this earthquake," the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency said in an alert. "People may have experienced shaking from the earthquake." The earthquake affected Puerto Rico the strongest, as it occurred on the southern portion of the U.S. territory.
