Sunny Isle, St. Croix
ST. CROIX — A Ranger Security employee working the Sunny Isle shift was robbed Friday night at gunpoint by an unknown assailant, according to a V.I.P.D. release.
Toby Derima, the V.I.P.D. spokesman, said officers on Friday were dispatched to the Sunny Isle Shopping Center at around 10:10 p.m. regarding the armed robbery.
Upon arrival, detectives made contact with the victim, a Ranger Security Guard, who stated that while on duty at his post, he was approached by a black male with a black handgun who demanded his belongings. The victim handed over the keys for his car and his mobile phone, and the suspect fled on foot, Mr. Derima reported. Detectives located the car keys at the scene.
The suspect was described as wearing a black shirt, khaki pants with a white belt, and a black ski mask.
