ST. THOMAS — A 19-year-old man named Jevon Thomas has been arrested for what police have confirmed was his involvement in a Jan. 31 incident where a man was robbed of his jewelry at gunpoint near his home.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, Thomas, from Bovoni, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm, second-degree robbery, first-degree assault, three counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, grand larceny, and conspiracy and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
Mr. Derima said a police investigation revealed that Thomas was one of four suspects in an incident that occurred in Estate Mariendahl late Jan. 31, where the victim was robbed of his jewelry at gunpoint near his home.
Three other suspects were still at large as of Tuesday. The V.I.P.D. is asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Crime Stoppers USVI with an anonymous tip here.
