Former Home Depot Employee Arrested for Allegedly Allowing Customer to Exit Store Without Paying for Items

ST. CROIX — Detectives of the V.I.P.D.'s Economic Crimes Unit recently arrested 42-year-old Gillian Harris and charged her with embezzlement by clerks, agents, employees, etc. and petit larceny in connection with a Dec. 2019 incident.

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, Harris, who was employed as a cashier at The Home Depot, is accused of allowing a customer to exit the store with unpaid items on December 26, 2019.

Unable to make bail of $75,000, Harris was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advisement hearing.
