Man Survives Hail Of Bullets In Mon Bijou; Wounded In Upper And Lower Body

ST. CROIX -- A man was shot multiple times in his upper and lower body on Tuesday, but managed to survive the onslaught, V.I.P.D. Public Information officer Glen Dratte announced via press release today. According to the release, the 911 emergency call center received notification at about 9:26 p.m. on Tuesday about gunshots being discharged in Mon Bijou, and immediately dispatched patrol units to the community. Upon further investigation, police learned that the gunshot victim had traveled by private vehicle to the Juan F. Luis Hospital, and a marshal command unit was dispatched to followup with the victim. Police did not give details relative to how the incident might have occurred. The victim was shot multiple times in his upper and lower body, Mr. Dratte said, adding that the Mon Bijou area was canvassed and processed by the V.I.P.D.'s forensic unit.
