Trump Signs Sweeping Domestic Policy Bill Without Section 8 Time Cap as Budget Debate Continues

Correction: July 8th, 2025 at 9:00 p.m. An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that the One Big Beautiful Bill, signed into law on July 4, 2025, includes a provision that limits Section 8 housing assistance to two years for able-bodied adults. In fact, no such provision was included in the final legislation. The two-year limit referenced by Governor Bryan stems from a separate FY 2026 budget proposal put forward by the Trump administration.
