ST. CROIX — Police have made an arrest in the homicide case of Bomani Christian, the man in his 40s from St. Croix who was shot and killed in the presence of his two young boys in Catherine's Hope on the east end of St. Croix.

According to the V.I.P.D., suspect Kareem Richardson, 40, turned himself in on Saturday following a notice from the police department that he was wanted for murder.

The homicide occurred on Sunday, November 1.  The victim was shot in the back, according to the 911 Emergency Call Center, which received a report of the incident at about 2:28 p.m. the same day. Upon officers' arrival to the scene, they met an unresponsive Black male who was declared dead on arrival. He was later identified as Bomani Christian.

The incident was the second homicide during that weekend on St. Croix, and the 45th territory-wide for 2020. A day earlier, at about 8:20 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot to death in Concordia West during a drive-by shooting.
