ST. CROIX — Police on Sunday arrested a 23-year-old man who on Friday entered a woman's house with a firearm threatening to shoot her, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced.
According to the news release, on Sunday at approximately 8:00 p.m., police arrested Omari S. Poree, age 23 of Mon Bijou, and charged him with third-degree assault, domestic violence, home invasion, and possession of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence.
According to Mr. Derima, Poree is accused of entering the female victim’s home on Friday without permission and pointing a firearm at her, threatening to shoot her.
Poree was not offered bail as per the territory’s domestic violence statutes, according to the release. He was then remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
