ST. THOMAS — The owners of Ocean Surfari Outfitters and Fishing Charter Company announced the arrival of the island’s newest snorkel boat, the Reef Surfari, with a maiden voyage on March 1st.

The Reef Surfari is 47-feet with twin 350hp Suzuki outboards and will accommodate 49 passengers.

The new boat and venture brought together partners Marc and Wendy Blackburn, co-owners of Ocean Surfari, and Alan and Shellene Patterson, and Captain Chris Rapchick, who will pilot the boat.

In business in St. Thomas since 2014, Ocean Surfari sells apparel and fishing charters. The shops are in Red Hook and at Havensight Mall.

At 47 feet and with twin 350hp Suzuki outboards, the Reef Surfari will carry 49 passengers and was built with a bar and head at Cooper Marine in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The boat arrives in St. Thomas in February and Ocean Surfari is already taking reservations for her March 1st maiden voyage.

Marc Blackburn said “Wendy and I have been approached so many times by our fishing clients and asked about snorkeling, that we decided to take the plunge and invest in a new boat. We have so much to offer here, and want to share the lifestyle we enjoy in St. Thomas. We also want to show people how to be responsible with the gift that nature has given us and how to treat the environment and our reefs with respect and responsibility, he added.”
