ST. CROIX — A late-night shooting in the Golden Rock area of St. Croix left two men injured on Thursday, November 27, after officers responded to reports of gunfire along Northside Road near the Pueblo Supermarket in Christiansted. The alert was first received by the STX 911 Emergency Call Center at about 11:40 p.m., following a radio transmission from an officer reporting shots fired.
According to information provided by VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte, officers arrived at the scene and found a vehicle containing two male individuals who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel transported both men by ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Hospital.
The Criminal Investigation Bureau has opened an active investigation into the incident as officers work to determine what led to the shooting and who may be responsible.
Authorities released an update on the condition of the victims: one man suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the second is in critical but stable condition and is being treated in preparation for air transport.
