ST. CROIX — A 29-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon at Princess Villas in La Grande Princesse, according to the V.I. Police Department, which says no suspects have been identified in the killing.
Police said the 911 Emergency Call Center received multiple reports of gunfire in the housing community at approximately 2:21 p.m., along with reports that an unresponsive man was lying on the ground.
According to VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte, officers and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and found the male victim showing no signs of life.
The deceased was subsequently identified by a family member as 29-year-old Ricardo Richards.
The VIPD Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating the shooting. Police said there are no known suspects at this time and are appealing to members of the community who may have seen what happened or have information that could assist detectives.
