UVI To Remain Closed On Aug. 28 in the Aftermath Of Troprical Storm Erika

The University of the Virgin Islands will be closed on Friday, Aug. 28. VI Gov. Kenneth Mapp has issued a curfew until 5 p.m. territory-wide, according to a press release the institution issued this morning. All essential employees, including Physical Plant employees, should report to work at their usual reporting time until further notice.   UVI students and faculty are advised that there will be no classes on Friday, Aug. 28. UVI classes will resume on Saturday, Aug. 29, if the curfew is lifted. UVI is expected to reopen on Monday, Aug. 31. UVI’s add drop period has been extended to the end of business day on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
