Police on Tuesday said thieves stole a Public Works backhoe at Central High School, drove it to the Harvey Project and cleared a piece of land to create a paintball field, with items stolen from John's Hobby Shop. Officers discovered the scheme as part of an ongoing "Operation Save Private Harvey" effort at the housing community, which sees officers being stationed in the area 24/7.
