Sign Up For 'Alert VI', The New Emergency Notification System From VITEMA

The Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) will be replacing VI-Alert, its current emergency notification system, and transitioning to a new emergency notification system for the U.S. Virgin Islands called "Alert VI", on Friday May 11 -- the same day of VITEMA's new website launch, VITEMA said Thursday. VI-Alert will no longer be used after May 31, 2018. VITEMA is encouraging all residents to begin signing up for Alert VI, the new mass notification system. The registration is free. Alert VI will provide VITEMA and partnering agencies the capability to keep residents and visitors safe and informed with quick and reliable emergency notifications and public service announcements, the agency said. Once you sign up to the new alert system, you will receive weather alerts, public safety and service disruption alerts and more, VITEMA said.
