Yale Graduate Gives Up $95k Job In New York, Moves To St. John

ST. JOHN – It’s the Caribbean dream that many Americans have but never get to experience first hand. Now that Noelle Hancock has shared her experiences in the Virgin Islands with Cosmopolitan magazine this week – Hancock’s new, more serene reality has become a virtual reality to 400,000 people on Buzzfeed – it’s gone viral on the Internet. Four years ago, Hancock was a successful New York City writer who had just finished her first memoir. Then she gave up all her possessions, bought a one-way flight to the Caribbean, and never looked back. Now, Hancock is sharing what she learned four years after leaving behind the big city for the simple life as a bartender in paradise.
