The weather system that became better organized early Tuesday has since developed into Tropical Depression Seven and is projected to strengthen into a tropical storm today, according to the National Hurricane Center.
According to N.H.C., the center of Tropical Depression Seven was located near latitude 10.0 North, longitude 41.3 West. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph. A faster westward motion is expected during the next few days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days, and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm on Wednesday.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).
There were no warnings in effect at of early Wednesday.
