Bryan Nominates Former B.I.R. Director Marvin Pickering to Lead Casino Control Commission

Governor Albert Bryan has nominated former Bureau of Internal Revenue (B.I.R.) Director Marvin Pickering as chairman and chief executive officer of the Casino Control Commission, Government House announced Friday. Mr. Pickering will face a confirmation hearing before he can assume the role. In addition to his role as the B.I.R. director during the Mapp administration from 2015-2019, Mr. Pickering was a senior vice-president and chief financial officer for Cruzan Viril Ltd. For 17 years. He replaces former chairwoman and executive director of the CCC, Ann Violet Golden, who was recently sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to theft of government funds and failing to file an income tax return.
