GERS Board of Trustees member Ronald Russell was the trustee who motioned to raise the salary of GERS Administrator Austin Nibbs from $180,000 to $250,000 along with housing and travel expenses. All board members except Chairman Nellon Bowry voted in favor of the raise during a Sept. 22 board meeting (one member was absent). In wake of the raise, Mr. Bowry resigned on Tuesday, calling the raise indefensible. Watch.
