ST. CROIX — V.I. Police Department officers along with federal partners confiscated live ammunition and made an arrest during a search operation on Friday in connection with a homicide that occurred in December.
According to V.I.P.D. Director of Communications Glen Dratte, at 4:55 a.m. Friday, members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, Special Operation Bureau, U.S. Marshals, A.T.F. and H.I.D.T.A. members executed search warrants at a residence in Pepper Tree Terrace in connection with the homicide investigation of Bradley Maxwell that occurred on December 28, 2022. During the search live ammunitions and illegal drugs were recovered.
At 5:44 a.m., Edelfonso Garcia, age 45, was arrested and advised of his Miranda Rights. He was charged with possession or sale of ammunition, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Unable to make bail of $7,500, Garcia was remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his advisement hearing, which has been scheduled for Monday, Jan. 16.
