ST. CROIX — V.I.P.D. officers on Saturday at approximately 10:45 a.m. arrested Jahneil Herbert, age 24 of Sion Farm, and charged him with first-degree burglary, domestic violence, and simple assault, domestic violence.
According to police spokesman Toby Derima, the victim reported to police that Herbert entered into her apartment without permission. Herbert then proceeded to assault the victim and took her mobile phone before leaving the apartment, according to the news release. He was located and taken into custody a short time later.
As per the territory’s domestic violence statutes, Herbert was not offered bail, and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advisement hearing.
