The Post Office in Frederiksted By. VI CONSORTIUM

ST. CROIX — Following vandalism of the Delegate to Congress Office, the administrative building of Frederiksted Health Care, and the Virgin Islands Supreme Court over the weekend — all buildings in Frederiksted — the Frederiksted Post Office was vandalized today with motor oil, with the perpetrator splashing the oil on the main entrance door of the post office.

The perpetrator committed the vandalism between 7:00 a.m. and 7:10 a.m., according to a source with knowledge of the incident. Just before the vandalism occurred, a Hispanic male was observed by unidentified witnesses holding two oil containers in the vicinity of the post office, according to this source, who requested anonymity to speak freely on the incident.

Police were called to the scene around 7:15 a.m. to investigate the matter.

The post office, which usually opens at 8:00 a.m., was closed until 12 noon Tuesday.

After the vandalism, VI Fire Service Personnel were on the scene to aid with cleanup (VI Consortium)
