Passenger of Vehicle Arrested After Admitting to Owning Bag Containing Over 1 Pound of Marijuana

ST. CROIX — The V.I.P.D. on Saturday arrested a man for drug possession after police found marijuana in a vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, officers of the VIPD’s Special Operations Bureau arrested Daniel M. Ramos, age 20 of Estate Glynn, on Saturday at around 1:14 p.m. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in which Ramos was a passenger. During the course of the traffic stop, officers found a bag containing over a pound of marijuana. Ramos admitted to owning the bag and its contents, and was placed under arrest as a result, according to the police report.

Unable to make bail of $7,500, Ramos was remanded to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advisement hearing.
