ST. THOMAS — A man wanted in Connecticut was apprehended at the Cyril E. King Airport Friday, police spokesman Toby Derima has announced.
According to the news release, on Friday at around 7:45 p.m., Customs and Border Patrol officers notified VIPD Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives of a fugitive from justice suspect, identified as Jerry Carter, age 41 of Lawrence, NJ.
Mr. Derima said Carter was detained at the Cyril E. King Airport on an active warrant from the state of Connecticut for violating his probation.
According to the warrant, Carter failed to pay court-ordered restitution for a larceny in which he was convicted.
Carter posted 10 percent of his $25,000 bail, and he was released pending his advisement hearing.
