ST. CROIX — A man who apparently could not resist the urge to make contact with a woman he was ordered by the Superior Court not to, was arrested and charged with contempt of court.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on Saturday at roughly 6:07 p.m., detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested Elias Velasquez, Jr., age 53 of Hill Street, Christiansted, on a warrant issued by the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands after violating a restraining order not to have direct or indirect contact with an adult female.
Unable to make bail of $1,000, Velasquez was remanded to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advisement hearing.
