ST. THOMAS — A man who police say was found unresponsive Saturday morning at Lindbergh Bay subsequently died at the Schneider Regional Medical Center the same day, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced.
According to the news release, on Saturday at around 10:32 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched police officers to Lindbergh Bay where an unresponsive male was found laying in the roadway. Emergency Medical Technicians performed CPR and transported the male to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center, where he subsequently died.
Mr. Derima, citing the 911 Emergency Call Center, told the Consortium Sunday that the victim was lying face down and had "cuts on his body," however it was difficult to say what actually happened. He said the department would await an autopsy for final determination of death.
The male was identified by relatives as 49-year-old Joseph Jason Jackson, according to Mr. Derima. The case is under investigation.
