Man Arrested in Connection With August 27 Shooting

ST. THOMAS — V.I.P.D. officers on Monday at approximately 5:15 a.m. arrested Dekumar Rogers, age 46 of Oswald Harris Court, charging him with first-degree assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment and illegal discharge of a firearm in connection with a late-August incident. 

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, Rogers was arrested in connection with a shooting incident at the Oswald Harris Court housing community that left a man injured.

At the time, the victim told police he was in the area of Building 4 when he heard gunshots and ran into the archway of a building and realized that he had been shot, according to police.

Unable to make bail of $25,000, Rogers was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
