ST. THOMAS — A man was shot several times in the Oswald Harris Court housing community on Thursday night, the police department has announced.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on Thursday at approximately 10:26 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to the Oswald Harris Court to a report of shots fired. Officers traveled to the area and found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center via ambulance for treatment. At the hospital, the victim stated that he was in the area of Building 4 when he heard gunshots. He said that he ran into the archway of a building and realized that he had been shot, according to police.
The victim was listed in stable condition.
