ST. CROIX — A 22-year-old man has been arrested and is facing serious charges related to domestic violence, including false imprisonment, after allegedly physically assaulting a woman and forcing her to remain confined in a cistern, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The female victim, who is the mother of the suspect's children, lodged the complaint at the Wilbur H. Francis Command on Tuesday evening. She alleges that her children's father, identified as MarcAnthony Hosien, physically assaulted her and kept her against her will in a cistern for a significant period of time.

Following the complaint, Hosien was apprehended and transported to the Rainbow Police Administrative Building. After being read his Miranda rights, Hosien declined to provide a statement.

He was then officially arrested and charged with false imprisonment - domestic violence, among other domestic violence-related charges.

In line with domestic violence law, no bail was set.

Hosien was processed and subsequently taken to the John Bell Adult Correctional Facility. He will remain there pending an advise of rights hearing at the Superior Court.
