US Postal Service Closed Friday; VA Employees Required To Report To Duty

Here are some community updates following Hurricane Maria's passage in the USVI: There will be no mail services in the USVI or in Puerto Rico on Friday, Sept 22, the Postal Service announced late Thursday. "The safety of our employees and our customers is paramount as we work towards solutions that will permit restoration of mail service. No postal employees are to report to work on Friday as vital assessments of postal infrastructure and employee headcounts continue to take place," said U.S.P.S. Postal employees are asked to check-in with their status using either 1-888 hotline, option 5 or *new* WHATSAPP / 978-761-0380. One check-in for this storm event by each postal employee in the Caribbean District is requested. The VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS) Emergency Management officials hereby announce that all employees are required to report tomorrow (Friday, September 22) to a regular working day.
