ST. THOMAS — The V.I. Police Department has issued a community alert as it intensifies the search for 48-year-old Arnold Malone. Malone, who is no stranger to the law, is accused of discharging shots at police officers during a recent traffic stop in the Altona area.
According to the VIPD, the alarming incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. Friday when Malone reportedly engaged in a confrontation with police officers during a routine traffic stop on Veterans Drive. According to the report, the situation rapidly escalated when Malone fired shots at the officers before fleeing the scene. The suspect then abandoned his vehicle at a different location and continued his escape on foot.
Malone, currently sought by VIPD, is described as a black male, approximately 5’4” in height, and weighing around 175 lbs. The VIPD has classified Malone as armed and dangerous, urging the public to exercise caution.
