The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority said Sunday night that normal operations resumed as of Saturday at the Anguilla Landfill on St. Croix.
The landfill now stands ready to accept commercial and public solid waste after being closed last week because of a fire.
Haulers contracted to collect commercial solid waste, household waste, as well as waste from public bin sites have also resumed normal operations, the authority said.
Haulers are asked to exercise caution at the landfill and follow the instructions of landfill personnel.
WMA apologized for any inconvenience caused by the recent landfill closure. "We thank the community for their continued patience and cooperation," it said.
