SFC (Ret.) Sonia Blondell Willock transitioned to eternal life on Sept. 6, 2026. She was 66 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roslind James and John Willock.

She is survived by her son, Brian Johannes; companion, Angela Lake; grandchildren, Dylan Johannes and Carson Johannes; daughter-in-law, Maita Nojadera-Johannes; sisters, Gwendolyn Willock James and Islyn Benjamin; brothers, Roland Willock and Steve Willock; nieces, Letticia Barnes, Justine Charles, Xiomara Roberts, Davita Washington, Stephanie Willock, Courtney Crowell and Melicia Willock; nephews, Akieba Willock, Akeem Willock, Elijah Willock, Isiah Willock and David Washington; great-nieces, Kailee Burnett, Kennedy Hall and Davani Roberts; and great-nephews, Jah’Noah Benjamin and Jah’Noi Benjamin.

She is also survived by cousins and other relatives, including Ernestine Isaac, Joycelyn Bailey, Judith Farrell, Andrea Wyre, Heather Hickman, Leslie DeSilvia, Desiree Howell, Roslyn, Leila, Cathy and Robertine DeSilvia, Annette Barnes, Roland Barnes, Vilma, Colin, Algin and Marilyn Willock, Carlton DeSilvia, as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, at James Memorial Funeral Chapel. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
