Homes in Whim Being Damaged by Bullets as a Result of Multiple Shooting Incidents Rattling Community

ST. CROIX — Multiple homes have recently been damaged in Estate Whim by shooting incidents rattling the community located in Frederiksted, according to the V.I. Police Department. 

On Thursday, residents of Whim were shaken by gunshots that turned out to be a minor boy discharging shots at his father.

Then during the wee hours of Monday, a mother reported that her minor son was wounded by a gunshot after multiple bullets pierced her home in Estate Whim and struck him.

Also on Monday at 12:01 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center reported discharging of shots in Estate Whim. 

Officers responded and contact was made with the homeowner and her family. They were interviewed and stated that just past midnight they were awoken by a barrage of gunfire outside their home.

According to the V.I.P.D., the home was struck multiple times from an undisclosed amount of .233 spent shell casings recovered from the scene. No one was physically struck by any projectile, but family members said were emotionally disturbed, stated the police department.

These cases are currently under investigation, the V.I.P.D. said.
