ST. CROIX — A minor boy was hospitalized during the wee hours of Monday after being wounded by gunfire when multiple bullets pierced his mother's house and struck him.
According to a V.I.P.D. news release, on Monday at 2:16 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center reported discharging of shots in Estate Whim, where a female stated that her minor son was shot in the foot.
Officers responded to the scene and discovered multiple bullet holes to the front and side of the house. They observed blood in the interior of the living room and multiple broken items, according to the V.I.P.D.
The victim was transported to Juan F. Luis Hospital by ambulance where he was admitted and treated for a gunshot wound to the foot and remains in stable condition, the V.I.P.D. said. The the case is currently under investigation.
