The National Weather Service (NWS) in Puerto Rico has issued a warning to residents and travelers in anticipation of unsettled weather conditions forecasted for the beginning of next week.
Drawing from the latest findings of the National Hurricane Center and the NWS's own predictive models, thunderstorms and intense rain showers are anticipated across both territories. This atmospheric disturbance is attributed to a potent tropical wave forecasted to impact the region between Monday and Wednesday.
St. Croix appears to be in the crosshairs of this approaching system. The NWS has forecasted rainfall amounts of 3 to 4 inches, particularly emphasizing that the west end of the island might experience even more intense downpours. St. Thomas and St. John are also on the radar for heavy rainfall, signaling a busy start to the week for the entire USVI.
Furthermore, the NWS has underscored the importance of residents and visitors keeping a close watch on the evolving weather scenario over the weekend. "Unsettled weather conditions with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall activity are possible between Monday and Wednesday. We urge everyone to actively monitor the weather updates over the weekend," the agency stated.
As the region gears up for the wet spell, both locals and tourists are advised to stay alert, keep abreast of updates, and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and safeguard their properties.
