The V.I. Water and Power Authority announced Saturday evening that rotating power outages remain in effect across the St. Thomas–St. John district as crews continue urgent repairs.
At 5:00 p.m., WAPA outlined scheduled outages as follows:

5:00–7:00 p.m.: Feeder 7b and a portion of feeder 7e

7:00–9:00 p.m.: Feeder 9c and part of feeder 10b

9:00–10:00 p.m.: Feeder 7c
-
10:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m.: Feeder 9o

Meanwhile, Hurricane Erin has intensified into a Category 5 storm, the first such storm of the 2025 Atlantic season. According to the National Weather Service in Puerto Rico, at 5:12 PM AST, a wind gust of 56 mph was recorded in Buck Island, St. Thomas.
According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC):

Erin’s maximum sustained winds have reached 160 mph, with rapid weakening expected after Sunday evening.

The hurricane currently tracks west-northwest and will turn north early next week, passing north of the Leeward Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Its outer bands are already impacting the region, producing heavy rain, dangerous surf, and rip currents.

Forecast models predict Erin could double or triple in size by midweek, significantly worsening ocean conditions across the western Atlantic
