As Water and Power Authority officials continue repair work on Feeder 13, the authority has issued a load shedding rotation schedule to ease the strain on the grid.
From Sunday evening to Monday night, various feeders in the St. Thomas/St. John district may go offline in a series of planned outages. However, an announcement from WAPA in the early hours of Monday morning indicates that the outage will only occur “when the load demands”.
On Monday 5:30 to 7:30 am, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, and again from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Feeders 7B and 7E are scheduled for an outage. Feeders 9C as well as WICO are scheduled for outages, from 7:30 to 9:30 in the morning, 1:30 to 3:30 pm, and 7:30 to 9:30 in the evening. Feeders 7C and 8B may be down between 9:30 and 11:30 am, 3:30 and 5:30 pm, and again from 9:30 to 11:30 pm.
Once again, outages are not guaranteed for these feeders at this time, but may occur if the load on the system makes it necessary. Consumers are reminded to check which feeder they are on by perusing the feeder listings on WAPA’s site, and to keep abreast of updates by downloading the agency’s Everbridge mobile app.
