Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority employees on St. Croix have not been silent on what they deem as unfair treatment, as their salaries have remained stagnant in some cases for five years, in other cases, more, while, they say, the pay of executives has skyrocketed.
Last week the employees took the streets, complaining about the issue. Back then, the showing, though successful in getting the message across, was small. But on Thursday more employees joined the job action, which was held near the Juanita Gardine Elementary School in Richmond. There, they chanted in unison for wage increases, retro pay, and for the ouster of Lawrence Kupfer, WAPA's chief executive. The video's above.
