Watch: Nonprofits Voice Their Concerns With Government Decision To Halt Funding

At the Government Employees' Retirement System building on St. Croix Tuesday, CEOs and directors of nonprofit organizations voiced their concerns with a recent government decision to halt funding, citing liquidity issues. Since the meeting, organized by the Senate Committee on Health, Hospitals and Human Services, chaired by Senator Nereida Rivera-O'Reilly and portions of which was broadcast live on The Consortium, Governor Kenneth Mapp has announced that the Office of Management and Budget -- which wrote a letter to the Department of Human Services announcing the halting of funds (the same letter that ignited the controversy) -- would resume releasing long overdue funding to the nonprofits in the next several weeks.
