Accident Near Tide Village Leaves Parts Of East End Without Power, viNGN Customers Without Internet

CROIX -- A vehicular accident on Centerline Road (Queen Mary Highway) near Tide Village on the east of St. Croix late Friday left most residents in the area without power, and forced the Virgin Islands Police Department to temporary cut off traffic traveling west to east from the Seaside Supermarket in Gallows Bay, and east to west from the East Way Service Station near the Pearl B. Larsen Elementary school, according to Police Officer Arthur Joseph, who was on the scene guiding traffic. According to Mr. Joseph, the accident occurred just before 5:00 p.m. today, and included a woman and two children, who were traveling in a red Suzuki Rodeo when it lost control and slammed into a Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority electric pole. Residents looking to travel west were to take the left road up Tide Village to the south shore, according Mr. Joseph.
